Chakra Vishuddha

The fifth chakra is located in the level of thyroid is called as Vishuddha, means purification.

• Fifth Chakra “Vishuddha”, means purification.
• Location: Chakra center is located in the level of thyroid (Throat).
• Symbol: Symbolized by a lotus flower with sixteen petals, sixteen add up and reduced to 7, seven represents analysis, understanding, knowledge, awareness and meditating.
• Color of the chakra is blue, blue represents trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.
• Deals with: Communication, creativity, healing, learning to take responsibility for one's own needs, confession, faith, truthfulness, self knowledge and expression.
• Governs: throat, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, trachea, cervical vertebrae, vocal cords, neck, shoulder, arms, hands, esophagus, mouth, teeth and gums.
• Mantra is “ham”.
• Sense of this chakra is hearing, element is sound or ether.
• Endocrine gland for this chakra is the thyroid gland, which secrets hormones which influences essentially every organ, every tissue and every cell in the body. Thyroid hormones regulate the body’s metabolism and organ function, affecting heart rate, cholesterol level, body weight, energy level, muscle strength, skin condition, menstrual regularity, memory and many other conditions.
• Balanced chakra provides: Physically it governs communication, emotionally it governs independence, mentally it governs fluent thought, and spiritually it governs a sense of security.
• Unbalanced chakra causes: Physical problems- thyroid dysfunctions, sore throat, stiff neck, mouth ulcers, swollen glands, gum or tooth problems, teeth grinding, scoliosis, laryngitis, hearing problems. Psychological and Emotional problems - faith, decision making, will, personal expression, creativity, criticism and addiction.
