  • Fifth Chakra “Vishuddha,” means purification.
  • Location: Chakra center is located in the level of thyroid (Throat).
  • Symbol: Symbolized by a lotus flower with sixteen petals, sixteen add up and reduced to seven, seven represents analysis, understanding, knowledge, awareness, and meditating.
  • Color of the chakra is blue; blue represents trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.
  • Deals with: Communication, creativity, healing, learning to take responsibility for one's own needs, confession, faith, truthfulness, self-knowledge, and expression.
  • Governs - this chakra governs throat, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, trachea, cervical vertebrae, vocal cords, neck, shoulder, arms, hands, esophagus, mouth, teeth, and gums.

  • Sense of this chakra is hearing; element is sound or ether.
  • Endocrine gland for this chakra is the thyroid gland, which secret’s hormones that influence essentially every organ, every tissue, and every cell in the body. Thyroid hormones regulate the body’s metabolism and organ function, affecting heart rate, cholesterol level, body weight, energy level, muscle strength, skin condition, menstrual regularity, memory, and many other conditions.
